Hunter Cargill

Hunter was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas where he began his martial arts training at the age of 17. While in Lubbock, Hunter earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2014 under the instruction of Klay Pitman, a 6th degree ranking black belt and student of world renowned Professor Carlos Machado. Professor Machado is a cousin and prominent member of the Gracie Family. In 2020, Hunter moved to South Texas with his wife, Lauren, and his son, Judah, where he also serves as the area director for Young Life Gregory-Portland.

Hunter has dedicated his career to serving youth in all walks of life beginning as an instructor for Pitman’s Academy of Martial Arts and eventually transitioning into full-time youth ministry. Hunter’s desire is to see all youth discover their purpose, build self-confidence and discipline, and learn to confidently move through life with humility and wisdom.
